Assessment

Assessment focuses on three areas:

• Underlying potential - cognitive ability or intelligence
• Mediating factors - phonological processing skills, working memory and speed of visual and phonological information processing
• Attainment - single word reading, reading comprehension, spelling, free writing and arithmetic

Together, the results provide a comprehensive picture of the individual and it is possible to determine what - if any - are the areas of difficulty. A full written report, including graphs, is provided.

The report contains a summery of the findings, a diagnosis - where appropriate - and recommendations for appropriate support. Full details of all the tests administered are provided as well as graphs illustrating the findings.

Nearly all individuals find it a positive experience and having an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses frequently boosts their self-esteem.
